Leo Leo V (Vardanyan) (b. 1971, Yerevan, Armenia) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice centers on painting while extending into photography, video, and performance. Beginning with figurative and semi-figurative work, his artistic direction shifted following a thorough engagement with Eastern philosophy, yoga, and meditative practices during his academic years.

Seeking a form of expression aligned with his inner experience, he gradually moved toward abstraction, presenting his first solo abstract exhibition in 1998. Since 2010, his work has taken on a distinctly meditative character, approaching art as a state of awareness in which creative practice becomes a form of meditation itself.

Upon close examination of the works, it feels as though you are immersed in an interglacial epoch, hearing the brush's movement beneath layers of expertly applied strokes, each one rhythmically shimmering across the canvas. There is a sense of harmony, introspection, and the absence of internal contradiction within the composition.
