Francesco Maria Messina (b. 1991, Pisa, Italy) is a collectible design artist whose practice brings together art, architecture, and environmental consciousness. Educated at the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris and the Confluence Institute in Lyon under Odile Decq, his work is defined by an architectural approach that merges conceptual research with material experimentation.
Drawing on international experiences across Europe, the United States, and Africa, Messina develops sculptural designs that combine rare materials, craftsmanship, and narrative depth. Working from his studio in Tuscany, he creates collections that examine themes of nature, cultural memory, and sustainability, transforming materials such as minerals, petrified wood, and recycled plastics into functional artworks. It represents a fusion of talent, elegance, refined taste, and boldness in both form and material, distinguished by its frequency and superior quality.
His projects — including Glacies, Mineralia, Fossilia, and Re-Plastic — reflect an ongoing dialogue between environmental awareness and contemporary design. Messina has presented his work at major international events such as Milan Design Week, Venice Design Biennial, Dubai Design Week, and London Collect, establishing his position within contemporary collectible design.
