Domagoj Rogina (b. 1989, Varaždin) is an artist based in Zagreb. In 2017, he graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Zagreb under the guidance of Professor Damir Sokić.
Rogina paints landscapes with a focus on expressive brushwork and a reduced, minimal
approach.
Through his choice of colors, play of light, and textural quality, his paintings evoke a sense of presence, silence, and tranquility, while also conveying a sense of tension and interest in what is unfolding on the canvas, balancing between observation and abstraction.
His works have been featured in numerous group exhibitions, including the Painting Biennial, “Erste Fragments,” and “Youth Salon,” as well as in ten solo exhibitions throughout Croatia. In 2022, he received the annual HDLU Award for Best Young Artist. Early in his career, he participated in an artist residency in Belgium in 2015, which further influenced his artistic development.
