Armen Hakobjanyan (b. 1989, Sisian, Armenia) is a contemporary painter whose practice is shaped by both fine art and architectural training. Educated at the Sisian School of Fine Arts under Ashot Avagyan and later earning a master’s degree in Architecture from Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction, he developed a material-sensitive, structurally aware approach to painting.

Hakobjanyan explores the functional and conceptual potential of materials. He shifts the artist's role from “doer” to “definer,” questioning painting’s presence and relevance in the contemporary world.

Rooted in nostalgia, his works seek to bridge memory and reality. Guided by the notions of love, equality, and quietness, Hakobjanyan creates contemplative compositions that invite reflection rather than declaration. The canvases captivate viewers, compelling them to ponder the techniques behind the depicted scenes and making it nearly impossible to take your gaze away. His works possess a hypnotic allure, drawing you in from the very first glance.
